Sarah Ingley

“Ms. Sarah’s” life work has been merging her love of working with youth with her passion for the arts.

She is fully certified, Levels Primary-7, plus Partnering, in the American Ballet Theatre® National Training Curriculum of ABT’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York City. She graduated from University of Florida, with highest honors, in French (the universal language of ballet) after performing with Dance Alive National Ballet and Dance Theatre of Santa Fe.

She dances contemporary in the film “Movement (R)evolution Africa”, which won the 2003 Jury Prize at Lincoln Center Dance on Camera. The film continues to screen globally.

Ms. Sarah has Irish danced at major events like Southern Region Oireachtas and Celtic Fest Mississippi, where she also taught the children’s dance class. She performed three tours across the US, including Las Vegas, with Nashville’s “Christmas With The Celts”, as aired on PBS. She has Irish danced live on international LiveVibe Television (Canada, Brazil, South Korea, the USA). She and her students have shared the stage with Irish superstars Donny Golden, Cara Butler, Lunasa, Cherish the Ladies, and Hanneke Cassel. Twice her students opened for world-renowned “Riverdance” as the pre-show educational entertainment. In 2003 Ms. Sarah contra danced for President Jimmy Carter at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, GA, as entertainment at an official event held by The Carter Center.

In latin dance (salsa y bachata) she has taught and performed at multiple major international festivals and congresses, as well as Carnival (2016) and Royal Caribbean (2019) cruise ships. She danced in the 2015 Disney/Telemundo New Year’s Eve latin-concert broadcast shot on location at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. She currently performs in a new Gainesville branch of the Bronx-based, famed Zafire Salsa, under local director Lisbeth Guz.

Ms. Sarah frequently choreographed for Gainesville Community Playhouse, Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, and Gainesville Ballet Theatre, including her original full ballet, “Snow White”, which premiered at UF’s Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in 2006. Before leaving to launch this studio, Ms. Sarah directed Williston School of Dance for 16 years, designing and implementing a curriculum ‘from the ground up’ and exponentially expanding the School’s offerings, enrollment, and visibility.

Ms. Sarah, RYT 200, certified through Gainesville’s Makara Yoga and thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Flow Space, Yoga Pod, Gator CrossFit, and GRACE Marketplace (through YogaLoka). She has taught yoga in Hawaii and in Puerto Rico.

Ms. Sarah is a library teen specialist and a former K-5 charter-school teacher; she holds a full background check. She is dance writer for The Gainesville Sun and former copy editor of Dancer Magazine, a national publication. She is a five-time guest lecturer for University of Florida Performing Arts. She was one of only 25 women nationwide chosen to be brand ambassador for Activyst, an LA-based clothing company funding improved social progress for minor girls worldwide.

Her greatest asset is her family’s love; her proudest achievement is having raised her son. A Gainesville native, Sarah loves her hometown and is honored to operate a studio, where she is grateful for each student and each teacher here.
